"When innovation clusters, jobs follow. And leveling up our economy means making City Hall move at the speed of business."

– Mayor Patricia Lock Dawson,

The City of Riverside provides a pathway for collaboration and commercialization through our tech industry. We foster strategic partnerships between our top educational institutions and innovative companies. As a business-friendly city, we ensure that our business community has access to the latest research and resources, setting them up on a path for success.
Our Innovation Corridor is a six-mile stretch of road between our downtown and UC Riverside. This is more than just a roadway, it’s a space that connects today’s companies to tomorrow’s technology. A 2021 UCR Center for Social Innovation report found that innovation sector jobs had grown by 88% since 2016 in Riverside County.
Innovation is also a priority for our own city’s operations. So much so that the Center for Digital Government recognized Riverside as one of its 2025 Digital Cities Survey Awardees.
